Homestyle Indonesian Cuisine
When our mother cooked for us, she had very little she could put on the table. She used every ingredient she could afford, to make our dinner meals seem like they were from a restaurant. We bring that essence to everything we do to create the meals you will taste when you join us at mamaku street food. To create our authentic dishes, a lot of ingredients are used and we try to honour the techniques our mother used. This means we believe in honouring our heritage when preparing your meals to give you our take on these special dishes from the heart. It also means we are not a fast food outlet and it can take a little longer for your meal to arrive.
Mie mie and Julia (91) - we took the opportunity to spend time with each other May 2019 and these pics are showing us relaxing. We all work very hard and I wanted to spoil the family. You might be lucky to see Julia rolling lumpia/spring roll soldiers or shaping siomay/dimsims.
Willie and Halle (6) - he won the P&O Amateur Comedy Festival onboard 2019. You can rely on his joke's, unique ukulele songs, horse betting/Rabbitohs tips and much more. Willie loves wonton soup, hainan chicken (chinese style steamed chicken) and rice, bbq/roast pork and rice, duck and rice.

Pieter, Petrisia, Julia and Mie Mie - two generations of recipes of the mothers in our family. Masters of curry, laksa, sate, rendang, mie goreng and nasi goreng.
Mie mie and Willie, Tim and Angela (behind the camera), and grandchildren - at the Mamaku market stall in Salisbury, Queensland - before Mamaku Street Food, Clayfield came to fruition. The kids favourite dishes are dimsims drizzled in peanut sauce, meatballs ala timorese style, ayam sayap/chicken wings and kari ayam/chicken curry. Tim and Angela love sate, gado-gado, noodles of every kind, spicy dishes and everything in between.

"We have a love of food and people and the way it brings people together. Our little corner shop is like pulling up a chair in our family dining room. Mie mie is peace love and harmony and Willie is action and joy.”
